[ENG] CORONAVIRUS: MOVEMENT AND TRAVELLING RESTRICTIONS


1. CAN I MOVE OR TRAVEL AROUND ITALY?
You cannot leave the house except under specific circumstances (see below). Travel limitations are the same in the whole country, and have been in effect since March 10 and will last at least till April 3, 2020. The police are responsible for enforcing these restrictions. Those who are quarantined or have tested positive for the virus are absolutely prohibited from leaving their home. Should respiratory symptoms accompanied by a temperature of 37.5°C. manifest themselves, you must stay at home, call your doctor and avoid all contact with other people.

2. WHAT ARE THE ACCEPTED REASONS FOR LEAVING ONE'S HOME?
You can leave your house to go to work, for health reasons or in case of special need. To attest this need you must fill out a self-certification form that is available on INTERNET (https://www.interno.gov.it/sites/default/files/allegati/modulo_autodichiarazione_10.3.2020.pdf ) or can be retrieved at your local police station. Beware: what you write is subject to being verified by the police.

3. CAN SOMEONE WHO IS OUT OF HIS/HER HOME, HOUSE OR RESIDENCE RETURN?
Yes, but only for reasons of work, health or special need. Remember always carry the self-certification.

4. IF I LIVE IN ONE MUNICIPALITY AND WORK IN ANOTHER, CAN I GO BACK AND FORTH?
Yes, if it is justified for purpose of work.

5. CAN I USE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION?
Yes, public and private transportation operate regularly. Check time schedules in your area.

6. IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO BUY FOOD?
Yes. There is no need to stockpile. The government has guaranteed that food stores will remain open and will always be supplied. There is no limitation on the transportation of foodstuff and other necessities. Their circulation throughout the country is guaranteed.

7. CAN YOU GO OUT TO BUY GOODS OTHER THAN FOOD?
Yes, but only in case of strict necessity.

8. CAN I GO AND EAT WITH RELATIVES?
No. It does not fall among the three reasons that allow you to leave the house.

9. CAN I GO AND ASSIST MY ELDERLY RELATIVES WHO ARE NOT SELF-SUFFICENT?
Yes. Don't forget that the elderly are the most vulnerable to the virus. They must be protected, and contacts with possible carriers must be avoided.

10. IS OUTDOOR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ALLOWED?
Outdoor physical activity is allowed, but the 1 m. interpersonal distance must at all times be respected.

11. CAN I TAKE MY DOG OUT?
Yes, for its daily physiological needs and for veterinary visits.

12. WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO DON'T RESPECT THESE GUIDELINES?
Violators face up to three months in jail and can be fined €206, in accordance with Art. 650 of the Penal Code 'On The Non-compliance of a Governmental Measure'. The authorities have the option of imposing more severe penalties to those individuals whose adopted behavior constitutes a potentially higher level violation.
